Avid Dancer: I Want To See You Dance

artworks-000090563654-72ow6b-t500x500 'I Want To See You Dance' is the new single (and title track from a forthcoming EP) from Jacob Dillan Summers' new persona, Avid Dancer. The soon-to-be-released EP of the same name seems to hint that this may be the soundtrack to one hell of a slumber party for horny adults. Avid Dancer falls somewhere between the teasing, snarling, 'I won't ask you twice' attitude of Rocky Horror Picture Show and the seemingly disinterested (but undeniably sexy) vocal stylings and shifty atmosphere of MGMT.

The near-psychedelic element of this somewhat direct track (I don't know if we're actually talking about dancing?) is part-and-parcel to the quiet confidence Summers has with this new hat on. Throw in a bed of naughty, fuzzy guitars and a hypnotic organ floating somewhere in the background and you have the perfect layout for a voyeuristic, somewhat objectifying dance party. A dance party we are begging to be invited to. To me it's no shock that Summers was raised as a fundamentalist Christian. It's always the quiet ones.
