Zella Day: Compass
Oh gosh, how many words have we written about Zella now? We're entranced, really. From the moment we heard the opening piano chords of 1965 (and those blissful guitar strums of No Sleep To Dream) tiptoe across our eardrums, we've been hooked on her antique-dusted songwriting. Her newest, Compass, is nothing short of brilliant. A firm, planted ballad, with fleeting ripples poignantly pacing out from the center. KKS rating? 10/10. Pairs best with loud summer nights where hints of fall air creep in through all the crevices.
