Over the past several months, he’s been hinting at the release of his debut EP ‘Leviathan.’ Tracks like “Drown” and “Shape Up” were perfect teasers of the dark soundscapes and crushing lows championed by Canine Teeth, but “Thunderstorms” really takes us there. Teaming up with DC based vocalist Dominic Robinson, the result is a moody future r&b trip based around tight hip hop percussion, hazy synths and bass that almost shakes the headphones out of your ears. It feels like D’Angelo on a bad trip in all the best ways with definite hints of the Weeknd but much more captivating production.
