New Artist: Sirma- "Intuition"

 

If the streets of an old market had a backbeat added with a touch of healthy cynicism than it would combine to create Sirma's latest track, "Intuition." A run on sentence, yes, but when a track is as layered as this is it's only natural to counterbalance it with a dose of words. But, I digress. This seemingly tangential arrangement mixes electronic instrumentation with a folklorish nature. It's dense and rich- like fantastic and spicy dark chocolate. Written about the confusing decision that is trusting ones gut, Sirma directly tackles this internal battle felt by individuals on a daily basis.

Hailing from Turkey, Sirma is being called the next Turkish Bjork- while those are some big shoes to fill, from the sound of this track it won't be long until Kick Kick Snare isn't the only publication jumping onto her fast moving train. By intermixing synths, strings, and her hauntingly layered vocals, Sirma has created a colorful tapestry of sound. With every listen it's easy to find something new to latch onto and savor just like that last bite of chocolate.
