Dorothy: After Midnight
I'll be honest, the pop guy in me usually doesn't fall for big ole distorted powerchords and overdriven drumkits. Something about that tone set just feels so dated and boring and oh by my eyes are starting to glaze over. I've said it time and time again and unapologetically - not gonna listen to rock.
Unfortunately for me, today is the day I retract that statement wholeheartedly. There something immeasurably fresh in the tune below. It's got its heels firmly planted in rock roots, but between the brilliant production (I'm looking at you - you crazy little intro clap doodads), and that angst driven female voice, I can't help but hit repeat on this shreddy little tune. Plus, that melody is GOLDEN. Thanks, Dorothy, because of you it's only a matter of time until I start riding motorcycles and wearing shredded up black jeans and listening to AC/DC and oh my gosh I need to get my One Direction fix before this gets out of hand.
Curses and love to you, Dorothy. You are my one rock exception.
