Ellie Goulding: Beating Heart (Dexcell Remix)

This just had me close every other window open on my laptop, and nearly reach for a box of Kleenex. What emerged was this re-imagined "Beating Heart," (the lead single from the film Divergent) via Dexcell's effortless remix of drum n bass, lush synths, and Ellie Goulding’s smooth and affecting vocal. There is an undeniable emotional resonance to the lyrics ("Wanna hear your beating heart tonight. Before the bleeding sun comes alive. I want to make the best of what is left, hold tight. And hear my beating heart one last time.") which lends the song an immediately-recognizable quality; the sadness of not being with someone anymore, but the infinite tenderness of your time together.

I was had a few bars in -- but completely owned following the 3:01 minute mark.
