Sophia Black: OVR AGN (Prod. BASECAMP)
Honestly, this isn't fair. I think I may retire from the whole music journalism thing after this one. I know, that sounds crazy, but let me explain myself - There I was was minding my own business, fumbling around on a Thursday afternoon when a little bird tapped on my twitter inbox. I glanced down and within seconds I knew I'd be running to my computer to write up this post.
To put it succinctly: One of KKS' favorite melodists has teamed up with one of KKS'favorite production teams. You know what this means, right? No other music is good enough. We've reached the peak, people. We've said it before, but there's something about Ms. Black's melodies that harken back to traditional tin pan tunes, but with all the dimples and warm smile lines of modernity. It's an absolute treat. And that's not something we say lightly. Listen to Sophia when she says OVR AGN, because that's exactly what we'll be doing (especially with this crispy BASECAMP production) until the end of days.
One more thing. Keep your eyes on this gal, world. Another little birdy told us she's got a delightful EP poised to completely enrapture your eardrums in the coming months. If we were you we'd get on board before the better half of the world catches on to this brightly burning talent.
