Thomas Azier: Hylas
Dark electro-pop virtuoso Thomas Azier announced his debut full-length, Hylas, by releasing the song of the same title. The track is a boundary defying electronic masterpiece that echos the brilliance of icons like the Eurythmics & modern day electronic geniuses like Monarchy & Hurts. The 25 year old Berliner recorded the entire album in an old East German factory where the church bells for the Kremlin used to be manufactured. His vast studio created a truly industrial twist on pop music. Azier's vision combines analogue sounds and dramatic, warm vocals with violent noises and the natural sounds of the factory. The entire album is written, composed, played and produced by the multi-instrumentalist himself, only assisted by sound designer and co-producer Robin Hunt.
Hylas is out March 10th via Casablanca Records and by far is the best electronic album of the year...so far
