Tei Shi: Closer (SPIRALs "Heart Shaped Birthmark"remix)

A metal heart twisting like a Rubik cube- Sydney’s SPIRALs remix Tei Shi’s “Heart Shaped Birthmark.” Taking the already airy, yet haunting, vocals of Tei Shi’s Valerie Teicher and creating a metallic rendition of this sweetness is unbelievable.

This glittery impression has left me starry eyed- it’s a wonder more people haven’t heard both of these acts (which you can sample SPIRALs here and Tei Shi here) in previous months. There’s a warm place in my heart for original musicians who make me want more- Tei Shi is one of those that has popped her head out of the Brooklyn crowd. SPIRALs has found a way to make something already so smooth into a beautifully jagged juxtaposition of a mixture.  A robotic end to a beautiful romance.
