Introducing: Pleasure Curses
DC really is the best city to live in at the moment (coming from a completely unbiased standpoint of course). While we don't have the sheer volume of musical acts as New York or LA, we more than make up for it in terms of quality. Whatever genre you're interested in, there's a band here who makes music that's fresh, interesting and generally awesome.
The newest DC wonder to come up on the KKS radar is Pleasure Curses. The duo of Jahn and Evan have been generating a lot of buzz with their single "Bounce Above." It's 3 minute dance punk groover with a super funky bassline, energetic synths, and tons of swagger. It feels a lot like Holy Ghost! with some sprinkles of Passion Pit and Cold Cave. Their other offerings are equally enjoyable and showcase them both as a killer band and deft producers. Definitely keep an eye out for these two, and check them out live November 24th at The Velvet Lounge.
