Chelsea Lankes: Ghost (Holborn Circuit Remix)

As some of you may know, Aside from writing about music on Kick Kick Snare, I also write music as a dude named Holborn Circuit. And as that music dude, I was lucky enough to get my hands on the the stem files for Chelsea Lankes' beautiful tune Ghost last week.

It usually takes a while to get your head on straight when you want to start a remix. Blank canvases are scary and you have the whole wide world in front of you to figure out where you want to go with things.

At least – that’s how it usually goes. But when I got the session files for Miss Chelsea Lankes’ tune ‘Ghost’ unpacked from my inbox last week I immediately knew this remix had to retain the beautiful and haunting fragility in her voice. After having had the original on repeat in previous weeks – a beautiful glistening romp through melded electronics- I wanted to take a slightly more organic approach in my rendition.
