Thief: Closer EP

thief Thief was born when Sydney artist PJ Wolf traded in his guitars for synthesizers. Thief’s early demos found their way on to the internet and within weeks the blogosphere was alight with talk of this new Australian pop talent. Since his emergence as Thief, PJ has crafted a fresh minimalist sound rivalling the likes of contemporaries such as Metronomy, Miike Snow and Frank Ocean.

Today Thief shares his four track debut EP Closer out tomorrow on Rabble Records. The EP features the highly buzzed about single "Broken Boy" released late last year, and now Thief reveals three more tracks that showcases his eclectic sound. Influences of Goyte come out in "Closer" while "Cold" is tinged with Pharrell inspired production. For the EP, Thief teamed up with renowned Brisbane-based producer Matt Redlich (Emma Louise, Hungary Kids Of Hungary, Yes You) to create four tracks that twinkle with glittering synths and anthemic melodies.

Thief was recently shortlisted for this year’s prestigious Vanda and Young songwriting competition for "Closer" and has previously played support for artists such as Parachute Youth and Clubfeet. Keep your eyes on Thief as one to watch - the Closer EP is out November 1st on Rabble Records.
