Introducing: Oxen Free

Oxen Free is my new favorite band. The Brooklyn 5 piece hits a sweet spot for guitar driven indie rock on their debut EP, First Cuts. Musically they sound somewhere between Broken Social Scene with the intensity of bands like Titus Andronicus. They straddle the line between ramshackle and carefully controlled, and the music is all the better for it. This is fun, good old fashioned indie rock that is loud and earnest and still manages to get stuck in your head.
