If It's Not NAWAS, Then "Nevermind"

Self-Quarantine and global pandemic vibes give you a lot of time to think. When the anxiety and the meal planning and the existential stuff goes on break, I find myself thinking about great bands I haven't heard from in a hot minute. Enter: NAWAS.

In the pre-corona times of 2018, this exciting duo based in Nashville was bringing the pop/R&B heat with a "bewitchingly androgynous falsetto" according to our friends at The FADER. Like a couple of grown-ass men, the fellas behind NAWAS decided to take a moment to reevaluate their partnership, their craft, and whether they wanted to tee up against the wild music industry again after a couple of near-misses and label snafus.

For anyone in their feelings or trying to tap into their dark little insides, throw up a "Hallelujah!" because NAWAS came out the other side. They're back with a hot new jam called "Nevermind." Is it dark? Yes. Is it about suicide? Yes again. Is it also beautiful and real and worth listening to? Oh hell yeah.

So let's welcome NAWAS back into the fold. We've missed you. And when this whole social distancing thing is over, here's hoping these dudes put on a bunch of amazing live shows and keep making music that squeezes our hearts.

Nevermind is about the impact one moment or decision can have on each of us. If we have a choice in the matter of our own life, Nevermind is about how serious some of those along the way can be.
