'Unfortunately, Terror Jr' Is More Than My Favorite Album of 2019
Per Spotify, and seconded by Captain Obvious from Hotels.com himself, Terror Jr was my #1 artist of 2019.
*standing ovation*
David "Campa" Benjamin Singer-Vine and Lisa Vitale could be the equivalent to Banksy’s Dismaland Bemusement Park. Pop music with a sinister twist? Just take my wallet.
Their debut album ‘Unfortunately, Terror Jr’ was released on January 25, 2019 and I knew immediately it was going to be my favorite album of the year. Well, it’s December and I was right.
Here with receipts, Spotify’s Wrapped counted 27 hours I spent listening to them and reveals “Pretty” was my favorite song. I’d have to say it’s tied with “A-OK (Everything’s Perfect)” because we had some moments together! Lyrics like “Last night, I had a vision/I could live without permission” and “Cut out my lips just to send you a kiss with 'em (Mwah),” felt like they were permanently tattooed on me when I heard them. It’s that and moments like the distortion at 2:42 that you either get or don’t.
I could go deep into each song but, instead, I just want to recommend buying a ticket to what whatever these two are selling. And if you haven’t, you should definitely listen to not only my favorite album of the year, but one of my favorite albums ever.
